The Short Story

The visual world of A Short Story is shaped by illusion, altered scale, and impossible spaces. Miniature chairs placed in the foreground use forced perspective to distort the relationship between characters and their surroundings. A complete interior room was constructed directly on the railway tracks, creating the illusion of an ordinary domestic space until a door opens onto the tracks outside. These spatial illusions blur the boundary between the familiar and the impossible, reflecting the film’s surreal story of a cat taking on human form.
